Thanksgiving 2007

I know all of you out there in Blog Land have been anxiously looking for my post. Things have finally calmed down a little around here. Some of my company left last night and Marvin, Jeff and Stacie went to the Mountaineer game today and Allen went back to D.C. (Allen doesn't hunt, but from what I hear, he is the Operations Co-ordinator). Jeff was there Monday and Tuesday and he did get a deer. Our Thanksgiving was down-sized this year. I only had 14 for dinner. Usually I have twice that many, but kids are growing up and it is getting harder for everyone to get here. We are thankful for the ones that were here. We missed my sisters Sharlene and Darlene and their families and my daughter Kerri, Brian, Danny and Aaron. We really missed all of them!! The picure above is of Jacob, Joel and Eli with their new Webkinz. Grandma Rutherford gave them an early Christmas present and they got to "adopt" them Thanksgiving. Jacob named his basset hound, "Harold", Joel named his Lion "Roar" and Eli named his google "Floppy". The google looks a lot like a platypus.

In the picture below, Mom is talking to Sharlene.

This is where we found Marvin most of the time while he was here!!
Shane brought his girl friend Stephanie. She must like West Virginia because she bought some WV clothes to take back to Tennessee. Dee Dee, Shane and Stephanie.
Kelli and Kevin enjoying a "quiet moment" together. Jeff and Stacie ate at our house at 1:00 and then went to Stacie's Grandma's house to eat again at 3:00 and I didn't get their picture before they left. All in all, I think everyone had a good time. Now we get to start planning our Christmas Festivities!!

Happy 7th Birthday Joel!!

Today was Joel's 7th birthday and we had a full day of celebrating. First we went to Joel's basketball game (which his team won and Joel had 6 points), then we went to the Roadhouse for supper with some of his cousins and his Pap and Nan. After that we headed to his house to open presents and have cake. (I forgot my camera, so sorry I have no pictures of today) This picture of Joel was taken this summer and it is so typical of Joel because he always has some kind of sport going on. He got a new really cool looking bat for his birthday. ( I see some nice hits coming from this bat next summer). Happy Birthday Joel, - Papaw and Mamaw love you and are so proud of you!!

Joel swimming at Aunt Joyce's this summer. I just had to put in this picture of Joel in Uncle Jeff's wedding. He was one handsome ring-bearer.

Last Saturday - Kelli, Eli and I met my sister Darlene , Kiera and Philip in Flatwoods. I got to see my great-newphew for the first time. He is even cuter in person than in his pictures. He's absolutely adorable, definitely a "keeper". I wish we lived closer, but I'm glad we were able to get together. We had lunch and just had a good time playing with the baby and talking.

I think he looks like Kiera in this picture. Eli is so good with babies. He loves playing with them and is a really good helper
Yes, I was there too. I got to feed Philip. He really loves his "Aunt Marlene".

10 Months Old!!

I took these pictures when Kerri and Aaron were here a couple of weeks ago and never got them posted so I thought I would put them up in honor of Aaron's 10 month birthday. (which was yesterday) He is walking everywhere now and according to his mother getting into absolutely everything. We can't wait until Thanksgiving when we will have all the grandkids together.

Eli stayed all night when Aaron was here (his brothers had school) and these two got to take a bath together. I think Aaron is telling me "some privacy, please"
"Are these the candles you don't want me to bother?"
Aaron kept trying to get his head in this container of toys. Eli thought it was quite funny.

Happy 50th Bob

My brother-in-law was surprised by a 50th birthday party last Sunday. Unfortunately we couldn't be there because I was in Connecticut taking some classes for work. From what I hear, Bob was completely surprised and everyone had a good time. Bob has had a big year - becoming a grandpa and turning 50. Happy Birthday Bob, Sorry we couldn't be there for your big day. We love you!!

Trick or Treat

The Morris Clan had their annual Halloween Bash and of course Allen and I crashed the party again this year. There are 9 cousins and they have a blast being with each other. They had a pizza party and then headed out to trick or treat. The kids go trick-or-treating on a street where the neighbors go all out for Halloween. They decorate and have fog machines and the kids love it.

Can you guess who these characters are??
Joel, Jacob, Eli and Lindsay. Joel was Venom (the evil Spiderman), Jacob was a doctor getting out of surgery. (complete with fake blood and all). Eli was a transformer and Lindsay was a princess. (I had to get a girl in the picture, since I never get to take a picture of one!!)

Here are all the kids ready to leave for trick or treat. It was a perfect evening for it.

Here we are unmasked - Isaac, Kara Lee, Tim, Evan, Jacob, Joel, Lindsay, Eli and Matthew.
