More of our Outer Banks Vacation 2007

One highlight of our vacation was Tuesday when Kerri and Aaron drove up for the day. Aaron loved the indoor pool. This baby loves the water. He didn't get mad, no matter what Kerri did to him. I thought the water was cold, but he didn't seem to mind it a bit. It was too windy to go down to the beach, but Aaron didn't seem to mind.

If you look real close you can see Allen and Kerri on the pier. I took this picture from our balconey. We had a beautiful view. I sat on the balconey and read. (when I could without getting blown away)

Beautiful view from our room

Aaron and Papaw on the balconey.

Aaron wasn't a bit afraid to be on his own.
Aaron and Mamaw. I have always wanted a room right on the beach and I finally got it!!

This is what a tired baby looks like after a day with Papaw and Mamaw.

Outer Banks Vacation

We have returned from our Outer Banks vacation. The weather did not cooperate. It was cold and windy most of the time, but we did get some really nice pictures of the light houses in that area. I have always loved pictures of lighthouses and seeing them up close was a real treat. This is the Cape Hatteras lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse and the tallest. Allen climbed to the top. (I waited at the bottom).

This was a beautiful sunset on our way back from Cape Hatteras. We traveled as far as you could go in both directions on the Outer Banks.

Bodine Lighthouse - I think this picture could be a postcard!!

Wright Brothers Memorial

Carrituck Beach Lighthouse - Allen climbed this one also.
These hugh sand dunes lined the highway to Cape Hatteras. On the other side of them is the ocean.

The Beach on the other side if the sand dunes. - It is really rough looking.

Visiting the Thumm's

We made it to Virginia on Saturday in 6 hrs and 15 minutes, our best time ever. We got there in time for Danny's game. Aaron was so excited to see us (or was it the other way around!) Aaron sure knows what to do when he sees a camera. His Mother is training him well.

We have made our way up the coast to Kitty Hawk, NC. It is cold and windy today so we are going to go do some sight-seeing this afternoon. We are right on the beach and have a beautiful view of the ocean from our balconey. I could sit there all day and watch the ocean. I will post some pictures later.

Just call me Great-Aunt Marlene

My niece Kiera in Huntington gave
birth to Philip Douglas Thacker on Aug. 29, 2007. He weighed 8 lbs. 15 oz. and was 22 inches long. (quite a big baby for her first one!!) My sister Darlene now joins the "Grandma Club" and as I told her, life as she knows it will never be the same. I think he looks a lot like Kiera. I can't wait to see him. I know he is looking forward to seeing his "Great-Aunt Marlene". Congratulations Timothy and Kiera. We are so happy for you!!

The new and improved Thacker Family - Kiera, Timothy and Philip.

Philip looks pretty comfortable in this picture. (well, so does Timothy!!)
