Christmas Parties

My house is quiet again, my company has gone home and now all I have left is to put away all the Christmas decorations. I don't know about you, but it is a lot more fun to get them out than it is to put them away. (that is why I am leaving mine up for a while!!) We had a lot of fun while everyone was here. We had a party with all the kids and grandkids on the 23rd, went to Kelli and Kevin's house for lasagne on the 24th and had all the Farcin's here on the 25th. (plus a few extras.) We opened lots of present, had lots of food and a lot of family fun. It seems like it is weeks of preparation and then it is over in a few days. We have lots of pictures to remember the good times.

Aaron got a lot of West Virginia clothes including these mittens with a matching hat from Uncle Jeff and Aunt Stacie. He really liked them. He didn't want to take them off.

Jeff and Papaw got flashlights that you wear on your head. (don't ask me why, but they both told me they needed these for deer hunting)
Danny showing Jacob how strong he is now that he is working out!!

Joel patiently waiting his turn on the Wii.
Eli with his new batting helmet.
Just in case you were wondering if the boys liked the Wii that Papaw and Mamaw got them for Christmas, (thanks to Jeff being in the right place at the right time) here is a video of them opening their present!!

Merry Christmas!!

As you can see from this picture, Aaron has arrived and this child is in constant motion. Everytime we look away from him for one second he is into something. No, we don't make it a habit of letting him chew on Christmas ornaments, but we just wanted you to see what we are talking about here. He never sits down, but is constantly on the move. ( It does wear him out so he sleeps 10-11 hours at night, so we can't complain.) We are so glad everyone is here this Christmas. We had a little Farcin Christmas party last night and will post pictures later. Right now we are working on getting Christmas dinner ready for tomorrow. Aaron is visiting his other grandparents at the moment so I have to get a lot done while he is gone!! We hope everyone has a very "Merry Christmas and that we all take time to remember the real "reason for the season". Love and prayers to all of you from - Allen and Marlene

Happy Birthday Grandma Farcin

Thursday was Allen's Mom's 80th Birthday. We celebrated last night with a party at Phil and Barb's. Grandma Farcin didn't want a big fuss made over her birthday but we partied anyway. (since when do we listen to anyone that doesn't want a big deal made out of their birthday??) We had lots of good food and fun. The Christmas parties are in full force now. It seems like there is something going on every night of the week. ( I guess it's too late to lose that 10 lbs. before Christmas!!) Happy Birthday Grandma Farcin. We love you and wish you many more "parties".

Joel and Eli had fun looking at Phil's Christmas Village. Jacob and Kevin missed the party, because Jacob had a basketball game. We missed them and Kerri and her gang too. We can't wait until next Saturday when the Thumm's get here.

Jeff and Stacie were there.
Chris and Janna were there.
This is my sister-in-law Sandra and her daughter Kim. I had to be sure to get this picture in because they haven't made the blog yet!!
This picture does not do Barb's necklace justice, but I couldn't remember how to do a video with my camera. (I need another lesson from Kerri.) The necklace lit up and twinkled. We were all very impressed and Barb gets our "Best Christmas Accessory Award for 2007!!. It really puts the pressure on us to come up with something for next year. Allen's Christmas socks that play Jingle Bells no longer work so we are going to have to do some serious shopping to top the blinking necklace.

Happy Birthday Jacob!!

It's hard to believe, but Jacob is 10 years old today. Jacob makes us proud every day. He does so well in school (even though he does love a snow day) and he loves playing baseball and basketball. These pictures are from his birthday party last week. His parents rented the Colebank Gym and Jacob got to invite his classroom, his basketball team and lots of cousins. Everyone had a good time. The kids loved being able to run up and down the floor and just make a lot of noise. This is definitely the kind of party to have when you have a lot of kids!! Happy Birthday Jacob!! Papaw and Mamaw love you.

Joel had a good time pairing off with some of the older kids. I think he gave them a run for their money .

The kids broke up into teams and had a basketball tournament.
Jacob got some neat presents and some money. (I think he has enough to get the Ipod he has his eye on.
The kids were so good. I would get this bunch together any time.
No party is complete for Eli unless his best "friend" Lindsey is there!!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

We got our first significant snowfall of the season today. They called for 1-3 inches and we have at least 8-10 and it is still snowing!! It was a pretty rough trip home from work today, but I took it slow and made it home safely. About 2:00 my boss said it looked like it was getting bad out and we should probably go home early (who am I to argue with the boss!). It is a beautiful snow, clinging to all the trees. There was no school today (Much to Jacob and Joel's delight). Kelli said they have been out most of the afternoon. I have a funny feeling there won't be any school tomorrow either. These pictures are for Kerri. She always loves the snow and doesn't get a lot of it in Virginia. (Maybe we'll have just a "little" when she comes home for Christmas.)
Our "snow covered" country road.
