Litchfield Beach 2008

Yes, we are back from vacation. It seemed like it went really fast this year. It always does, but this year it just flew by. We had a real good time. The weather was great for the first part of the week. Towards the end of the week it got really windy down at the beach and on Friday it rained, but we still had a lot of good beach time. All the boys really like the beach. This was the first year Aaron could really play in the sand and he just loved it. He would run straight into the water and was not the least bit afraid.

Jacob, Joel and Eli. These boys are getting so big. I had a picture like this from last year and I can't believe how much bigger they are
Eli and Jacob buried Danny.
Eli and Aaron in their own private "pool." Aaron working on getting a tan on the back of his legs.
One of the fish that was caught.
Playing hard on the beach really wears a baby out!!

"Old" Friends Reunited

Yesterday we went to a CCS reunion and got to see some of our old friends. Pastor Jerry and Cheryl Hairgrove were in Fairmont for 10 years back when we were having our kids. We both had 3 little ones at the same time and have many happy memories of that time. We really had a good time laughing and crying over the things we remembered. We have been able to keep in touch with our blogs (I told Cheryl she looked just like she does on her blog), but it was so good to be able to talk in person. After the reunion was over we all went to the Olive Garden and had a good time over dinner. I sure wish we lived closer (they are in Florida now, I'm thinking Florida vacation??) .
Mr. Anderson taught history and Geography and his son James and Jeff were best friends in the first grade. We found out that they live in Findlay, Ohio and we were just there for Nathaniel's wedding!! Mr Brunson taught math. He lives in New Hampshire now.
Remember Brent Armstrong. He was the ring bearer in our wedding. Now he pastors a church in Anderson, South Carolina.
The highlight of the day for me was hearing Pastor Jerry speak again. I always enjoyed his preaching because he not only was a good preacher, but a good teacher of the Word. I can tell you that he still has it. He spoke with the same energy and compassion. It really took me back to a very good time in our lives.

We have More Company!!

My sister Sharlene, her husband Greg and Micah were here yesterday evening. I planned a cook-out, but of course it rained again so the party was inside. But we partied on and ate (of course). It was good to get to see them. We don't get together as often as we would like. Everyone is just too busy. Lauren didn't get to come and Nathaniel and Kim are just home from their honeymoon trip. (Maybe Sharlene can get us some pictures of Cancun.) Greg fixed some faucets for Mom yesterday. They are back on the road today.

Micah was entertained by the three "amigos". If you look real close, Eli has a bandage on his forehead. He fell at the playground and hit a rock. It's looking a lot better now, but he had a big goose egg.(These boys are always doing something!!)
Micah and Barry the Bulldog. The boys introduced Micah to their Webkinz and we decided since he had always wanted a dog, he should have one. He got to chill out with the lap-top after the boys left. (they had another party to go to so they left early). I'm not sure Micah likes being an only child. He didn't have anyone to pick on.

Eli at one of the three games we watched on Saturday. He had his umbrella ready because it rained off and on all day. I got wet so many times, I just gave up. It was fun though. Jacob and Joel played on the same team in a tournament. We won 2 out of 3 on Saturday, but lost on Sunday. I think we came in fourth. We are playing again this week-end so we will keep you posted!!

Aaron playing with Papaw's hat right before he left last Wednesday. He really liked this hat.

NEWS BULLETIN - Kerri got a call yesterday and they may get back in their house on Thursday. They are really anxious to get home, so pray that this happens. (Besides, we need Kerri to get back to blogging!!)
